  1. Nice find FLDS Texas.

  2. Another entertaining chapter in the life of a dead beat dad!! Good luck Carolyn! Get what’s yours and then some. Are punitive damages allowed in this state??

  3. Yes, good luck Caro;yn and Natalie. I guess that even if merril wins, he loses by having to pay attorney fees and travel expenses to Utah. More short creek money going to gentile attorneys. The flds stimulus plan in action. ROFL

  4. Merril wont win, he is a deadbeat dad, this is an open and shut case!

He will be judged, then they can go after assets is he declines to pay.

Those assets may be found co-mingled with FLDS enterprises, did I say YFZ…?

Will the FLDS burn the temple if Carolyn repo’s the Ranch?

  5. I agree, Stamp, on the co-mingling of assets. It’s going to get very sticky for old Merril and the FLDS.

Speaking of the temple, I read somewhere (shoulda bookmarked it) that the FLDS were not using the temple because it had been desecrated when Gentiles entered it during the raid. Anybody know if that’s true?

  6. Yes, as far as I know they haven’t used the temple at all. At least for meetings since Jeffs was arrested.

  7. Why should Merril get away with something that no other father in the US does not get away with?
Unless they are deadbeat Dads and on the run.
He should be assigned to pay what any other man in Utah has to pay when fathering children , either in a divorce case or spawning children without a marriage certificate. I don’t see how he can get around this one even if he shows up in court pleading to be dirt poor.
In my State, failure to pay child support means jail.

  8. Well if he is on social security, Im supposin they can take it out of that. And if he doesn’t pay, Carolyn should stay on top of it, and make sure he goes to jail, like other dead beat dads.

  9. Yeah, they can take your child support out of your social security. The problem is that he’s probably going to be going to jail no matter what. Unless they can find some assets I don’t think the threat of jail for failure to pay child support is going to phase someone already sentenced to a fairly long jail term.

  10. So if merril is on social security and they start taking his child support out of those checks before he goes to prison will at least the child support portion of the social security still continue?

  11. I would think so LadySadie, cause Social Security you get whether you work or not after the age of 65, even in prison.

  12. Speaking of the temple, I read somewhere (shoulda bookmarked it) that the FLDS were not using the temple because it had been desecrated when Gentiles entered it during the raid

If the flds don’t plan on using the temple again, they might as well destroy it so as avoid paying taxes on structure that is essentially worthless.

I’m not sure if they can go after property and other assets he previously owned if they were sold off to others before Carloyn sued for support. I have no problem with Merrill paying child support but it is clear from the comments that this is another effort to seize FLDS property in an effort to destruct them.

Yes, they could garnish his SS checks.

  13. Propblem is duane, is that Warren is on record in his dictations advising Merril how to hide assets, and btw the action in my recollection started years ago but wasnt completed.

Why should the FLDS be destructed? Merril should just pay up and shut up.

If he wants to fight it, and it appears he does, then by all means, go after hidden assets.

  14. BTW Elissa likes horses much better than she ever liked Allen.

And that boy on the zebra could ride a whole lot better than Allen.

Has that dufus no skill at anything? Not even any horse sense!

  15. “Here is a nice video of a rapist and his traumatized victim in parade held in short creed. Surreal to see such a supposedly evil and wicked people enjoying a nice community outing.”

As I pointed out on Pliggy’s blog (where Duane got this picture), children who are victims of abuse are still able to smile, enjoy, and/or pretend to enjoy life. It doesn’t change the fact that Elissa was pressured into a marriage at the age of 14 which she was in NO way ready to handle, nor does it change the fact that while in that marriage her so-called “husband” (since my understanding is that it wasn’t a legal marriage) had sex with her even after she said no, she didn’t want it. But why should he have listened to her, no one else did when she said she didn’t want to marry Allen either — not even her own mother.

  16. Duane do you remember the following story? http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/15/missouri.boys/index.html

I wouldn’t go there with the “smiling and having a good time” crap. They can bring in the real experts and clear that little theory up. jmo

  17. Did Merill work for an outside company that paid in for his social security? or was Merill self- employed and paid in himself?

    Hmmm??

  18. Wow, talk about being off topic. Why did duane post a picture of Elissa and Allen here? This article is about Nerril being sued for child support. Maybe old deci is getting dizzy.

  19. Duane – nice trolling for your buddy Pliggy. He drops the turd and you spread it all over the walls.

  20. Wisans right hand man is also a dead beat dad. he hasnt given Alicia a dime 4 the children. He claims poverty.

  21. I posted that video as an afterthought and forgot I wasn’t on the general thread. Yes Walton, I’m sure Elissa and everyone who atteneded and watched the parade are “brainwashed” just like real kidnap victims. Funny thing though is how they are bitterly resisting the UEP takeover and potenntial seizure of their property; even holding mass demonstrations.

Apparently this video really offended poor Ron sensibilities, seeing “victims” smiling and enjoying a parade really bothers him.
Perhaps he would feel better if someone posted a snuff film.

  22. anon, the whole point of going after Merrill is not to help “the children”, but another tactic to confiscate as much FLDS property as possible.

  23. Duane

I get sick of “trashing” the victim while claiming persecution which is Pliggy’s specialty. You’re the one that always talks about how mean and spiteful everybody is to the poor FLDS and then you turn around and spread bile about a person who claims to be a victim.

How in the f*** your head doesn’t explode from cognitive dissonance just totally escapes me.

  24. The whole point of ignoring the child support Utah Court filings by Bishop F. Merril Jessop a couple of years ago was the mistaken belief that Carolyn would exhaust her resources and capitulate. Book sales must have given Carolyn new resources to bring the child support issue back to front and center. “Answer Them Nothing” doesn’t seem to work too well as a Theocratic strategy in an American Court of Law. If the Prophet is so perfect how come his legal strategy is so wrong. Bishop F. Merril Jessop has millions and he won’t pay his rightful parental responsibility on the basis that it somehow is construed to be an attack upon the FLDS Church, that’s pretty rich.

I guess their propaganda has worked 100% at least on one Gentile, he’s bought the lies by hook, line and sinker.

  25. Yeah, ‘Mass demonstrations’ under the ‘One Man Rule’ system you either show up at Court at the appointed time of pack your bags. What a show of solidarity that resulted in Judge Denise Lindberg approving the Berry Knoll sale. Have any of the demonstrators noticed that the inept leadership can’t do much beyond hiring more attorneys and staging demonstrations that attracts little Press coverage.

The UEPTrust control was lost to the Courts and the FLDS leaders seem at a loss on how to get it back, but you’all better “Keep Sweet” about it or pack your bags.

  26. Duane

Oh no, it’s not about a special needs child that is likely going to need help for the rest of their life (who by the way, has yet to see any support from the father.) It’s part of an evil conspiracy to take from the FLDS. I think you may have earned a nomination Bluey’s next tin foil hat award.

Since child support is a personal obligation, I’d love to hear your theory on how Merrill’s child support is going to “confiscate” FLDS property.

  27. Whenever there is a sign of real lack of moral behavior in the men of the FLDS, the apologists divert attention to the lying apostate women who have started the unraveling of their power. Pay it no mind, it’s just empty noise.

    Betty

  28. Also, duane is showing how without moral fiber he is. If he can actually say with a straight face that a man does not need to pay child support because of his religion, then he’s as bad as the trash he’s apologizing for.

  29. “that a man does not need to pay child support because of his religion”

I never said he shouldn’t have to pay child support, if he indeed has “millions”, then he should pay whatever back child support he owes. But it is obvious that what many here want is not that Carolyn gets support per se, but see it as a furthur effort to bankrupt the FLDS. If Merril whips out his checkbook and writes out an amount per a court settlement thus settling the issue, lots of people will be disappointed.

  30. duane said: “If Merril whips out his checkbook and writes out an amount per a court settlement thus settling the issue, lots of people will be disappointed.”
Count on old dog duane to tell what other people think and how they would react to a situation. Unfortunately he is wrong again. Why would I be disappointed if Merril acts like a man of honor and pays his overdue child support. I would be quite pleased for Carolynn and would take it as a positive sign that at least one flds leader is finally doing what most other honorable fathers in this county do. It would be a sign of progress. Take that and smoke it, deci skinwalker.

  31. duane

All anyone is ASKING is for Merril to whip out his checkbook and start writing.

But evidently you missed the part where over and over he has done illegal acts to avoid doing so.

When he does this, he brings those in collusion with his plans into jeopardy. Namely, Willie, Warren and the FLDS.

But instead Merril can cheerfully pay what he owes.

Its really HIS choice. Do you not see that?

  32. Yeah duane: All anyone wants is for the flds to be responsible US citizens and to obey the laws we are all subject to. The only one running off his mouth about people wanting the flds destroyed is YOU. Just another of your stupid strawmen. Give it up dud– wane.

  33. duane wrote: “I posted that video as an afterthought and forgot I wasn’t on the general thread.”

Always have an excuse for the stupid things you do, don’t you skinwalker?? Hint, if you did not write and do stupid things you would not have to make excuses or apologize so much.

  34. The FLDS enjoy paying child support about as much as they enjoy paying federal taxes.

But with a coming judgement and records of co-mingling, the FLDS are up shart crick without a paddle!

  35. “The FLDS enjoy paying child support about as much as they enjoy paying federal taxes.”

Well said, Stamp. There is a long-standing pattern of avoiding legal duties unless/until forced to comply.

  36. If Merril whips out his checkbook and writes out an amount per a court settlement thus settling the issue, lots of people will be disappointed.

LOL – Yeah, like that’s gonna happen.

  37. dud-wane: why don’t you help your heros out by whipping out your checkbook to pay Merril’s child support. Maybe they would give you a 14 year old bride. Don’t know how you will run the second wife bit by your first wife. ROFL.

  38. I would be THRILLED if Merril whipped out his checkbook and wrote a check for back child support, and set up an automatic bank draft for future support payments.

Of course, he’d probably complain that he left his glasses at home and can’t see to write the check.

  39. Thank you FLDS Texas administrator for deleting the off topic video posted by: None other than (Drum roll please) dud–wane, who may take care of merril’s child support problem with the old check book whip out.

  40. I too would be thrilled for Merrill to whip out his check book and pay the kind of child support that his children deserve (to go to college and to have medical care, especially for the handicapped child). That child is also going to need a trust fund set up for future health and living care.

So why hasn’t Merrill already done that?

Has he been too busy divesting himself of resources so the check would have to be smaller and not worth pursuing?

  41. I dunno how much assets Merril has. If memory serves he filed for bankruptcy not so long ago because of some medical issues.

  42. Well, then, maybe he’d better get a job!

  43. Duane what do you mean by this?: “Walton, I’m sure Elissa and everyone who atteneded and watched the parade are “brainwashed” just like real kidnap victims. Funny thing though is how they are bitterly resisting the UEP takeover and potenntial seizure of their property; even holding mass demonstrations.”

Are you talking about the group that stood outside the courthouse concerning the Berry Knoll?

  44. Well, then, maybe he’d better get a job!
    =====================
    If he’s smart he wouldn’t.

  45. alinusara, whatever happened to HONORABLE?

  46. Any man that has fathered children ans is not willing to pay for their support is no man in my eyes.

  47. Amen, Sister.

  48. Walton: “Duane what do you mean by this?: ”

Asking old dog deci what he means is most likely a fruitless exercize. Most of the time he does not know what he means himself. LOL

  49. Its my gut feeling Alinusara doesn’t pay child support either.

  50. “Wisans right hand man is also a dead beat dad. he hasnt given Alicia a dime 4 the children. He claims poverty.”

Personally, I think men and women who procreate and then do not provide for their children either financially or by finding them a good home should but put to work at a government facility, paid minimum wage and kept there until they are ready to start supporting their progeny. I don’t care whether they are married, not married or any combination thereof.

  51. “Yes Walton, I’m sure Elissa and everyone who atteneded and watched the parade are “brainwashed””

Strawman alert! Strawman alert! Once again Duane purports to respond to a stance that no one made about this particular subject. You’re getting really good at setting up those strawmen and knocking them down though, Duane. Maybe someday you’ll actually graduate to an honest debate. Maybe when you actually have a brain, that is…

  52. Who is wisan’s right hand man Alinusara? It was my understanding Wisan has a trustee board.

  53. “Why would I be disappointed if Merril acts like a man of honor and pays his overdue child support. I would be quite pleased for Carolynn and would take it as a positive sign that at least one flds leader is finally doing what most other honorable fathers in this county do. It would be a sign of progress. Take that and smoke it, deci skinwalker.”

Well said and I second it. Duane, I find it incredibly offensive that you continually try to come on here and tell people what “most” of us believe. You have no clue. Your viewpoint is so warped I’m amazed you’re even able to hold down a job. And since you and people like you are undoubtedly responsible for a sizable portion of the supposedly horrible FLDS posts (no Duane, I haven’t forgotten your escapades as “anonymous”) I have to believe it is merely “most” pro-FLDS at any cost posters who keep calling for genocide. But you keep trying to paint a different picture. (Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain folks.)

  54. Genocide,,, interesting word there…. Flds breed like rabbits, and all of a sudden because of a raid where 12 men were indicted for illegal activity, its genocide? Who was killed? What mass of people were buried from Flds… Last I heard all the children were returned to the families,, some with stipulations, but returned none the less.

  55. Dudduane uses the word genocide for it’s fourth meaning, sorta esoteric, something like taking action to end a culture, of course, he assumes that the FLDS Church is a culture?

  56. Walton I was responding to your earlier post and link.
“brainwashed” kidnap victims don’t hold mass protests and put on cute parades.

If there is a judgement against Merrill and it is typical of those made against parents in similiar situations…wife leaves with kids and demands support…and not some ridiculous amount on account of his religious beliefs, then I would agree it would be fair.

ale wife, I bet I could get along with many on this board if it weren’t for polygamy, that even include boots, who is a nice person. Unfortanately, she has been brainwashed by Flora. You however, are not one of them…that goes for ladiesadie as well.

  57. ” Flds breed like rabbits”

Typical bigot trash talk but thanks for validating my opinion on this matter…again!

  58. Ohhhh, I’m just soooo hurt duane doesn’t like me.

I take that as an honor, it means I have proven too many of duane’s posts to be the lies that they are.

Or it could be that since duane is pliggy’s stooge duane is just parroting pliggy’s dislike of me. Hmmmm, duane don’t you ever wonder why pliggy really doesn’t like me??

  59. “Typical bigot trash talk but thanks for validating my opinion on this matter…again!”

Rabbits breed very large families without any family planning.
FLDS breed very large families without any family planning (unless you count planning to rip off welfare as “planning”).

Hmm, where does the bigotry part come in?

  60. Duane I knew you were responding to my post. What I didn’t understand was this part: “Funny thing though is how they are bitterly resisting the UEP takeover and potenntial seizure of their property; even holding mass demonstrations.”

Are you talking about the sale of the Berry Knoll?

Now about victims responding a certain way. The reason I brought up the story about Shawn Hornbeck is because even in captivity Shawn did what he had to do in order to “exist”.

Going thru the motion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rack_and_pinion One sharp turn and your out of whack.

  61. Alinusara10 said: I dunno how much assets Merril has. If memory serves he filed for bankruptcy not so long ago because of some medical issues.

I personally think the bankruptcy was a sham….[if in fact it went through] It’s more the “poooor me, I can’t pay child support” ploy. For being broke, he sure eems to have the $$$ to get around. If he is bankrupt, how is HE paying for alll his wives and kids? He has assets somewhere…hidden under wives and friends names, no doubt.

  62. Watching “Secret Lives of Women” on WE network — it’s about the FLDS.

  63. Well old dog duane, I really don’t care if you think you could get along with me or not. What Rebeckah wrote about you here:
(“I find it incredibly offensive that you continually try to come on here and tell people what “most” of us believe. You have no clue. Your viewpoint is so warped I’m amazed you’re even able to hold down a job.”) is spot on. I really get irked when you do that. Because as Rebeckah says, you don’t have a clue. You just make this stuff up, like the skimpily clad, rock throwing apostates in short creek. ROFL.

  64. It actually does not matter if merril ever filed for bankruptcy, it doesn’t matter if he shows his only “income” is Social Security, the courts will take into account funds available to him, he is driving a spiffy new SUV, where did he get the funds to pay for it? He is paying a WHOLE bunch of high dollar attorneys (you don’t really think they are working for free – like you want Wisan to do) so those are funds available to him. He his supporting how many wives and children??? All of that is funds available to merril and all of that will be taken into account when child support is calculated.

  65. If Merrill has filed for bankruptcy, then putting in a claim for child support is an excellent idea. The bankruptcy judge needs to consider that debt in with the rest.

I doubt very seriously that he has though. Too much actual review of books involved.

    Betty

  66. My husband went bankrupt because of IRS debt on a failed business. The family court did not even consider that in setting his child support, but DID consider it re alimony. He actually lived out of his station wagon for months because of having to make both tax payments and child support for five kids.

If the polygamist fathers had to pay standard child support for all their children, most of them could not do it.
    Betty

  67. Merril is getting money from his many sons businesses in Texas.

  68. duane, Carolyn can’t demand a certain amount of money, you idiot.. The court itself sets up a percentage depending on how many children and the income of the father.

Warren’s dicatations back me up duane, that Warren told Merrill to get anything in his name out, because Carolyn was taking him to court, and that was in 2005. Now why do you suspect Warren told Merril that? Becuase as stupid as Warren is, He figured if Merril owned nothing, carolyn would get nothing…. But that’s NOT the way child support works.

  69. Who is wisan’s right hand man Alinusara? It was my understanding Wisan has a trustee board.

deputydog1 said this on September 1, 2009 at 7:20 PM

The Wyler kid. He can afford to feed 30 horses but claims poverty when the state tried to get child support. He doesnt have a regular job so they cant garnish his wages. Hes a lowlife no differnt then the FLDS. I did get a laugh when I read moral fiber and Merrill in the same sentence. Funny Shit

  70. LOL “Merrill’s moral fiber” – I believe that would be an oxymoron.

  71. http://www.kvbc.com/Global/story.asp?S=5201924

And as for the children, Isaac says that the kids don’t even know who their fathers are now. And although he’s been ex-communicated, or executed as they call it, Isaac does keep in contact with his family.

Isaac helps support them by renting out a home he owns in Las Vegas. He says things have gotten weird, even criminal, since Warren Jeffs took over and started arranging underage marriages with girls as young as 14.

If they can have a home in Vegas why do they say they can’t/shouldn’t own their homes outright in ShortCreek?

And what about the Newera. Wouldn’t that be part of the trust?

  72. Hey Potty Mouth Anonymous

    You don’t know nothing, nothing.

  73. Betty said:

I doubt very seriously that he has though. Too much actual review of books involved.

Child support cannot be discharged through bankruptcy. In a Chapter 7 bankruptcy (discharge), you are still responsible for paying your child support obligations during the process. In a Chapter 13 case (repayment), you may obtain a temporary stay on paying child support, but the debt (including any amount in arrears) remains and is not discharged.

In other words, it will do nothing for Merril to file for bankruptcy other than open up his books – he is still on the hook for child support.

  74. No, I did not mean that child support can be discharged – that was my point. I meant that the bankruptcy court might adjust the pay back plan so that the child support is not impacted.

  75. Ah, then we are saying the same thing…

  76. Short Creekers are “judgment proof” because they OWN nothing of value, no real estate. That’s what Warren was advising Merril to do, make himself judgment proof, get any/everything off his social security number which is about the only way for US or State government agencies to track assets other than the physical paper trail (in which latter case, good luck).

I recally having read about Merril’s stunt to get out of paying even his own medical bills, he apparently thinks we taxpayers are slaves who owe him. He’s just another FLDS “lord” in Warren’s principality.

This is the kind of attitude they raise up their children in.
