Whoa,, so Husband (pretending to be Uncle) insisted the girl lie!! Yup that a definite Bad Act for him!! I hope they throw the book at him!!!!!
contrary to what mudpuppy writes, the victim in this case was 15 when she was married to the defendant, 16 when she had her first child and 17 when she had her 2nd child. she was 2 days past 17 when the rescue occurred and she had an 8 month old and was pregnant again.
she was underage and leroy lied more than once about it trying to save his sorry skin.
That’s weird, Brooke Adams writes that the victim was 18 when interviewed as part of the rescue. It’s in the top post on her blog.
the victim said she was 18 and said she was born in 1990, but in reality it was all a lie. she was born in 1991, and had been 17 less than a week when the rescue happened.
These guys sure stand by their convictions, don’t they?
It’s going to be hard to get out of that. Can’t really say that he didn’t know what he was doing was illegal after going to such lengths to cover it up.
all of leroy’s other wives made the witness list.
I’d really talk to some of those people who were going on about how spiritual marriages aren’t consummated until the girl is of age! And there weren’t any pregnant under aged girls in the raid! Two babies before she was 18, hunh? I’m not going to hang around waiting for them to come forward and say that they were wrong.
These guys sure stand by their convictions, don’t they?
Well, lately they’re being convicted rather than having convictions.
Yeah PT, I just did some research and the victim was definitely not yet 18 when the rescue happened: D.O.B. 03-24-91
yep, a week or so after her 17th birthday was the rescue and she had a 10 month old and was pregnant again.
Well, three-for-three going to prison, and these folks dont seem like they are learning the lesson yet.
Hmmmmm, perhaps stiffer sentences will clue them in!
Hmmm
I wonder how the CelloSteel Kingdom compares to the CelloBarbedWire Kingdom?
The former is an all-guys club. A new paradigm for those pliggers!
Is there any data regarding the morbidity associated with these underage births? For example, any data regarding cerebral palsy in the infants born to the underaged mothers ? Any data regarding the incidence of vaginal fistulas or post partum incontinence in the underaged mothers ? Apparently their practitioners don’t publish any data ….
CW, I’m not convinced they have practitioners.
unless you consider sally a practitioner then they don’t. dr. barlow sees nothing!!!
They certainly do have practitioners…but they don’t publish any data. Given the numbers of underage girls who give birth, I believe that there are probably a number of young women who have sustained injuries secondary to labor, and a significant number of children who have been injured as well… were there any CPS findings to this effect?
What did Dr Barlow have going against him? Any loss of medical licensing at least in TX?
No loss of license yet.
Investigation is in progress, till the trial is completed.
Bad, bad Leroy.
the charges are still pending. i checked last time i was at the courthouse. they are just in a different court.
Bad, bad Leroy. That so true Proud Texan.
In honor of Bad Bad Leroy, here’s a song in his honor:
OK so I had to play around with the lyrics a little sorry Jim – still one of my favorite artists and songs:
Well the South side of Hildale
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man named Leroy Jessop
Now Leroy more than trouble
You see he stand ’bout five foot eight
All the downtown ladies call him Treetop hanger
All the men just call him convict
Chorus:
And it’s bad, bad Leroy Jessop
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog
Now Leroy he a gambler
And he like his fancy clothes
And he like to wave his flag ties
In front of everybody’s nose
He got a custom Escalade
He got caught in Eldorado too
He got a 32 gun in his pocket for fun
He got a razor in his shoe
(Repeat Chorus)
Now Friday ’bout a week ago
Leroy shootin’ dice
And at the edge of the bar
Sat a girl named LeAnn
And oo that girl looked nice
Well he cast his eyes upon her
And the trouble soon began
Cause Leroy Jessop learned a lesson
Bout messin’ with the little girls in Texas
(Repeat Chorus)
Well the state took to fighting
And when they pulled them off the floor
Leroy looked like a jigsaw puzzle
With a couple of pieces gone
They certainly do have practitioners…but they don’t publish any data. Given the numbers of underage girls who give birth, I believe that there are probably a number of young women who have sustained injuries secondary to labor, and a significant number of children who have been injured as well… were there any CPS findings to this effect? –catwhisperer March 8, 2010
After an intense and very difficult birth of my oldest child, I was told by the FLDS midwife/practitioner that if I had gotten started earlier on having children, it wouldn’t have been so hard. She explained it to me thus: “Once you get past the age of about 20, your bones set in and become hardened. Then they don’t give as much during childbirth.” I beleived her. She was an educated medical professional.
LS, very funny. Maybe we should amend the last stanza?
Well the state took to fighting
And when they pulled them off the floor
Leroy looked for his cousin Willie
Who was sitting outside the door.
lepk – Apparently not that well educated.
If you had been unable to deliver the child, would she have transferred you somewhere where they would be able to do a section? What would have been your fate?
I’m sorry for your bad experience. Not only do you get a harrowing experience, but afterward you get a lecture.
Actually, she wanted to transfer me to the hospital at one point. I chose not to go. And she told me later that she wished she would’ve insisted on it. I was 27 years old. Most women my age had 6 to 10 children already. Yeah, I was way out of line to just be having my first.
Another public document stating Leann was “married” to Leroy Jessop when she was 15.

Did anyone ever notice how many children of deadbeat dad Merril Jessop have “Merril” as part of their legal names. We have Raymond Merril Jessop, Merril Leroy Jessop and 5 of Carolyn Jessop’s 8 children she had with Merril have Merril in their names (a daughter has it in the form of Merrilee).
Is this just ego and conceit on Merril’s part or what?
lepk – I’m glad to hear that she was at least willing to transfer you. Thanks for answering.
